Dear Activist for Palestine,
We are kindly inviting you to join our crowd-funding effort to help the five Hares Boys families whose children have been incarcerated by the racist Israeli regime.
THE HARES BOYS crowd-funding project’s aims are three-fold. In a nutshell:
1. To lessen the families’ financial burden. Essentially, due to Israeli policies, the boys are being forced to pay for their own imprisonment. In this way, incarcerating children becomes a profit-making enterprise for the apartheid state.
2. To expose such illegal practices – including violent arrests and incarceration of minors – in the minds of the international community, and to confront them.
3. To spread the truth about the plight of the Hares Boys, as well as hundreds of other Palestinian children whom Israel illegally locks up in its adult prisons.
As you probably know, in violation of international law, the Israeli prison system deliberately fails to provide Palestinian prisoners, including children, with basic essentials – food and hygiene products. The low quality and quantity of food in the prison means that in order not to starve, the children are forced to buy expensive, highly over-priced food, as well as other basic necessities such as soap, toothpaste, shoes, and clothes, in the prison shop.
Not only are such policies designed to break the spirit of the imprisoned and their families – they also intend to ruin them financially.
The Hares Boys – Mohammed Kleib, Mohammed Suleiman, Tamer Souf, Ammar Souf, and Ali Shamlawi – are five teenagers (16-17 years old) who’ve been tortured in an Israeli prison on fabricated charges. Their families struggle to deal with the financial burden associated with having their sons illegally imprisoned. Your contribution can help them lessen this burden and by doing so, fight for justice, human rights, and the boys’ freedom. The families will divide the target money raised (2,000 EUR / US $ 2,700 / £ 1,670) equally among themselves and use it to cover some of their boys’ prison expenses – food, clothes, hygiene products, pocket money, and travel expenses for prison visits and court hearings.
The crowd-funding project is hosted on Namlebee, a social/political platform built on high moral standards. It is easy, quick, and safe to donate online in any currency from anywhere in the world. All you need is a bank account and it takes just a few minutes to set it up, yet it can make a huge difference to the boys’ families.
Please share this widely with your friends and family, comrades and neighbours, and other good people. We have just a bit more than 2 months to raise the money.
